E-Cig cartridge Fluval re-stuffing 101
This is a video showing the technique on how to re-stuff your e-cigarette cartridge with Fluval stuffing. In this example I am re-stuffing a DSE801 pen style cartridge, but the same techniques can be used to re-stuff any size cartridge. I also show you how to separate and cut your Fluval for the minimum amount of waste. Fluval can be bought at most pet supply stores in the fish/aquarium department. Tools needed, 1) Tweezers, One square tip and one needle tip. A pair of angel tip tweezers can be useful for inserting the tube if you choose to do a tube mod. 2) Scissors. Basic steps. 1) Separate your Fluval into 3 layers of equal thickness. 2) Cut a strip from one layer approximately the width of your cartridge. Tip: Cut along the short end then cut in 1/4 for 901 mini style cartridges. Cut along the long side and cut in 1/4 for 801 pen style carts. 3) Place the Fluval in your square tip tweezers and scrunch the end of the Fluval in the tweezers tip. 4) Insert the Fluval into the cartridge with your tweezers. 5) Use your other hand to hold the foam when removing your new stuffing to prevent it from falling out when your remove the tweezers. 6) Fill with your favorite juice and enjoy.

whats the tube for????
The tube is another mod that some people use that helps allow the air to escape as you fill your cart and also helps the flow of juice during use. Some people swear by it. Just search tube mod on the e-smoking-forums web site for more.

Just watched it really great explained really well. I have now bought two different types of fluvel and both are wrong, the holes are much too large. Anybody know what type to buy, is there a number for different types? Cheers
I’d like to make one suggestion that has made life easier for me. All the frizzys that stick up and out and sometimes get snagged on the atty…………I just quickly pass my butane lighter over the cart when I’m done stuffing it. Sometimes I’ll let it stick out on purpose and when I use my lighter it’s make it nice and flat accross the cart. Try it, with a little practice you’ll like it.

What’s a “tube” mod? Did he say what the tube does?
the tube allows air to be drawn to the bottom of the cart… this will allow your juice to wick easily to the top. Haven’t tried it but people say less top ups.
Thank you very much for this post, I have been seeking info regarding re-use of these exact carts for my BE112’s for some time, and by random chance happen to keep koi fish at home and still have my first fluval pump and all of its apparel!
how much is a new cartridge. why dont you just buy a new one . it seems easier to just buy a new one. but then again my fish filter is a whisper filtering system
I thought about this myself but this is actually cheaper. The cartridges cost about 50p each, probably a bit cheaper if you buy in bulk. Once you have the cartridges though you can just toss out the existing filler and refill the cartridge with this. You’d probably get tons of refills with this, for about £3.
@piranhaleg it looks like a coffee stir stick/straw like you’d get from starbucks or any other coffee shop for free… but i don’t know if that;s right…
Just a heads up — the instructions on the side of the Fluval box say to “rinse thoroughly” before use.
You could also use a facial cleansing sponge also known as a buff. They have them at Dollar Tree or Walgreens or almost anywhere else. They work amazing. Just cut to size, insert and cut off extra.
