Stocking Your Saltwater Reef Aquarium

highqualityarticles.com Stocking Your Saltwater Reef Aquarium Do you know what a reef aquarium is? It’s an aquarium that emulates an underwater coral reef ecosystem, containing live corals and other sea animals that thrive in a coral reef environment. A reef aquarium contains an amazing diversity of color and texture. These animals are sometimes called live rocks. They bring the mystery and spectacle of an undersea garden to homes, offices and shopping centers all over the world. It’s Not About The Fish With a reef aquarium system, it’s not about the fish. Instead, the focus of a reef aquarium is the lifestyle of the live corals and other invertebrates that inhabit the reef tank. A reef aquarium at first looks like any other aquarium; and then you notice that there are no fish swimming around. Invertebrates take a little longer to notice. Invertebrates These living creatures make up 97% of all the animals on the planet. The sea invertebrates that you may choose to invite into your aquarium tank include the Bryozoa. This tiny sea animal builds skeletons of calcium, like coral. They are also known as sea mats or moss animals. Bryozoa are found in blades of kelp, wood, rocks, shells and other hard substrates. The species is mostly immobile, but some colonies can creep around a bit. Crustaceans Barnacles, crabs and lobsters are all members of the crustacean family. More than 10000000 tons of crustaceans were produced and eaten by humans in 2005. Reef aquarium owners prize

African and South American Cichlid Tank

Cichlids are fascinating fish. With good care they can be exciting, fun to watch pets. Change the water as often as 3 times per week (60% at a time) cause they are river fish and need a constantly fresh supply of water. (And don’t forget aquarium salt!)

Baby terrapin eating a dead goldfish

Hey, here you’ll see my terrapins again but particullarly one of my small terrapins tearing away at a dead goldfish. Also I’d mind to say that unfortunatly due to unadequate air supply every one of these gold fish died by the next evening, even after cleaning the tank and supply more air by some means the shock of all the dieing fish probably killed off the rest, thankfully I had removed 3 of my biggest and nicest ones before this fish catastrophy. Still a nice video:) Hey Everyone don’t forget to Subscribe and add me as a friend or family pleeeaaseee and have a nice pleasante day everyone!! Questions about why there WEhere dead fish in my tank with the turtles. These fish died from lack of air due the tanks bubble filter breaking down, it mainly was not the turtles but they did eat the dead ones later on. I managed to save 5 fish before it got very bad and I had no clue what happened as I was out that day. Hey, you had a question about why there WEhere dead fish in my tank with the turtles. People assuming I did it all for fun need to first look into their record of cruelty against anyone…and then when they’ve corrected it all THEN they have the right to say cruel things against me although only by assumptive observance can they anything because

Budget tiger barb fish tank

My 46 gallon bow front which was purchased at Petsmart for a good price (yes, you can barter with them if you have a good relationship with manager). Painted the back using a 99 cent can of matt-black Rustoleum spray paint. Plants super cheap from ebay. Rena xp3 from Craigslist for !!. Rocks from local building supply for free (just ask for samples). Gravel free from Craigslist. Oh and by the way, I bought a couple of tanks real cheap on Craigslist, cleaned them up, painted the backs black and took good pictures – they sold for much more than I bought them for. This helped to offset the discounted price I paid for this new bow front. I will post videos of my other tanks which were cheap-to-free and how you too can do a net-zero transaction.

E-Cig cartridge Fluval re-stuffing 101

This is a video showing the technique on how to re-stuff your e-cigarette cartridge with Fluval stuffing. In this example I am re-stuffing a DSE801 pen style cartridge, but the same techniques can be used to re-stuff any size cartridge. I also show you how to separate and cut your Fluval for the minimum amount of waste. Fluval can be bought at most pet supply stores in the fish/aquarium department. Tools needed, 1) Tweezers, One square tip and one needle tip. A pair of angel tip tweezers can be useful for inserting the tube if you choose to do a tube mod. 2) Scissors. Basic steps. 1) Separate your Fluval into 3 layers of equal thickness. 2) Cut a strip from one layer approximately the width of your cartridge. Tip: Cut along the short end then cut in 1/4 for 901 mini style cartridges. Cut along the long side and cut in 1/4 for 801 pen style carts. 3) Place the Fluval in your square tip tweezers and scrunch the end of the Fluval in the tweezers tip. 4) Insert the Fluval into the cartridge with your tweezers. 5) Use your other hand to hold the foam when removing your new stuffing to prevent it from falling out when your remove the tweezers. 6) Fill with your favorite juice and enjoy.

My 75 Gallon Planted Aquarium

Just a video of my 75 Gallon Planted Aquarium Setup. The fish are Neon Tetras, Glowlight Tetras, Bleeding Heart Tetras, and a couple Otocinclus. There are also some SAE’s (Siamese Algea Eaters), a smaller Pleco, a Farlowella Catfish, and some Algae Eating Shrimp hiding in the mix somewhere. This video was to show some people the tank that have been asking. It’s not at it’s best, but it’s not doing too bad at the moment either. It is currently lit by 2 AH Supply 96W 6700K CFL’s (I will swap it out for a 4×55W setup at some point in the future. The gravel makeup is a mix of various planted tank substrates including Aquasoil and Flourite. There is a Rex Grigg regulator and CO2 tank setup with a reactor under the tank supplying CO2 for the plants directly into the outlet of the main filter. The filtration is provided by a Rena Filstar XP 3 and a Magnum 350 Canister Filter. The ferts are mixed in dosed daily. For ferts I am using Plantex CSM+B for the Iron and Trace elements and a custom mix of KNO3, KH2PO4, and K2SO4. I am always tweaking the mix. Lately the tank has been on a medium maintenance schedule, so dosing hasn’t been heavy for exceptional growth although you can definately see pearling in the video as the tank does for most of the day.
